Honoring Pride Month

 

June is Pride Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the richness and diversity of the LGBTQ+ community and amplify the voices of those who have been marginalized for simply being out and proud in this world. As we enter Pride Month, we acknowledge the essential role of the Black LGBTQ+ community and that the ongoing fight for equality continues.

 

In light of the emotions felt across the world right now, it’s important we all stop to reflect on injustices, biases and hold ourselves to the standards we expect. With social distancing, we may not see the usual parades dedicated to advocating equality, so instead let’s remember that actions speak louder than words. Be kind to yourself. Rejoice in uniqueness. And let`s be there for each other.

More than ever, we must foster inclusivity and acceptance.

 

Pride Month provides an opportunity to learn more and encourage the spirit of togetherness, resiliency, and support for the LGBTQ+ and Black communities. We pledge to do our part, listen, take action, and be an ally. This month, and every day, celebrate love and fight for equality.
